I suspect a Foreign Body inside me. How does radiology opinion help me to find one? What is the use of Markers?

With more electronics in our lives, there are multiple chances of you putting kinds of implants/ Microchips devices in your body. Also some accidents or injuries  make foreign bodies enter our body and stay in there for several months or even years. There are several other reasons for unidentified body to enter, so are the challenges in getting rid of them. You need to tell your Surgeon where exactly is the location of the suspected body. Then you turn towards radiology to get an answer wherein the MRI/CT scanning technique needs to use a proper marker .

From a medical perspective, foreign bodies could be removed only if there is a reactive inflammatory process. If so radiologist can see inflammatory processes clearly and job is easy. But what if you dont have an inflation but feeling pain or unusual sensation suspected due to implant or injury. You initiate MRI/CT scanning then. Pre-scan stage, MRI marker becomes important.

Usually the procedure is>> a Marker is placed on the surface during MRI / CT scanning at the site of Maximum pain / tenderness / area of interest. There are different types of Markers available in market. Most commonly used in MRI are Vitamin D capsules, which are cheap and easily available. So that Radiologist knows where to focus for abnormality.

During second opinion process, it is very important to get answer from patients if any such marker was placed during scan or not.

Moreover things might be complex, if one doe not know the nature of foreign body, where and how deep it was implanted initially? For some reasons, sometimes such bodies get absorbed in the body , some micro-devices are occult on MRI imaging. That means not seen in MRI clearly. So unless, referring doctor or patient provides detailed history of the implant, it is nearly impossible for Radiologist to think/ locate / provide information about the implant. It is like a person had hidden a thing in your house. Now it is your job to find out. Unless that person provides more and accurate information on something, you ill not able to find it identify it. If that person provides some vague info like that thing is a Toy. This will narrow down your search but still difficult to search.

You will need precise information about something like Teddy bear toy which is white in color and 5 cm height, etc ect,

Please find below the marker (Tab Vita D) used on the surface of Knee of a patient  during MRI scanning - where there was pain and tenderness. How it looks into MRI scan, please see below picture..

Second Opinion

Get a second opinion of MRI, CT scan, or Xrays. If you have any questions or want confirmation of the diagnosis, then a second opinion consultation may provide you all required answers that you need.

A radiology second opinion can offer you:

  • An explanation of your imaging study.
  • An expert opinion about the findings and results of your study.
  • A confirmation of your diagnosis or a differing opinion.
  • Necessary information to make informed decisions when discussing your imaging results with your treating physician.

Quality Review of a Second Opinion

Teleradiologyhub places a strong emphasis on the Quality Review of all second opinions, which is an internal process that only involves the Quality Control Board (QCB). The Board may have more than one senior radiologist, and they play a vital role in ensuring the right quality second opinions generated by the Expert (s). However, the Quality Review is strictly an internal process, which means that it is not visible to the clients.

The Quality Review process is typically available for L3 and L4 Expert Panels, depending on the budget allocated per case. The Quality Control Board (QCB) is responsible for ensuring that the Quality Review process is carried out efficiently and effectively, and that all reports are thoroughly checked for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.

1. Check if all sequences are studied: It is important to verify that all the necessary imaging sequences have been acquired and evaluated in order to arrive at an accurate diagnosis. This ensures that no important details are overlooked or missed during the interpretation of the images.

2. Any technical errors are present: It is important to review the images carefully for any technical errors, such as motion artifact, incomplete coverage, or poor image quality, which could affect the accuracy of the diagnosis.

3. If there are any conflicts in reporting between the two radiologists: In cases where multiple radiologists have interpreted the same imaging studies, it is important to identify any discrepancies or conflicts in their reports, and resolve them in order to arrive at a more accurate diagnosis.

4.Are the questions or reasons for second opinion logical enough and directly connected to the case: It is important to ensure that the questions or reasons for seeking a second opinion are relevant to the case and directly related to the imaging findings. This helps to ensure that the second opinion is focused on addressing the specific diagnostic challenges posed by the case.

5. If they are framed in the report: It is important to document the questions or reasons for seeking a second opinion in the report itself, along with the radiologist's responses, in order to provide a comprehensive record of the diagnostic process and ensure that all relevant information is available for future reference.

6.  The Quality Control Board (QCB) members are selected properly: Experience Teleradiologist from Teleradiologyhub.com other than Expert Radiologist(s) who are on task studding the case in order to give the neutrality and integrity to the task.

How do you form the panel (L1 or L2 or L3 or L4) for second opinion? Does the client decide the members of these panel (L1 or L2 or L3 or L4)?

The Second Opinion Expert Panels (L1 or L2 or L3 or L4) differ from the Resident Radiologist Panel (RRP) in…

The Second Opinion Expert Panels (L1 or L2 or L3 or L4) differ from the Resident Radiologist Panel (RRP) in the Second Opinion (SO) process. The Second Opinion Expert Panels (L1 or L2 or L3 or L4) are always defined by the senior expert of the panel who leads and only signs the report.

At any given point, your second opinion study is supported and managed (academically, intellectually and administratively) by atleast three radiologists from TeleradiologyHub. TeleradiologyHub has highest L4 Panel, that has international board which should have atleast two radiologist from different countries. One can expect more conclusive results from L4 panel hence they are expensive. The general composition of members of all study panels is based on factors such as skills, years of experience, seniority, rapport, publications, internal ratings and earlier reviews, factors of communication and other parameters therefore setting up the panel is complex job and happens to be responsibility of working RRP during those hours.

Also, clients may have difficulty forming a panel on their own since they may not know who is available or who has the required skills or who is open to work in team. To address these concerns, the RRP selects experts (L3 or L4) based on the client's needs, including budget and time constraints. The composition of the panel will not be changed once it is set. (You must also read Second Opinion: Terms & Conditions). The category of experts (L1 or L2 or L3 or L4) will be told to client but not specific member details for the reasons of availability, data security and confidentiality.

However, clients can still express their preferences from the over publicly listed 450+ radiologists by searching and little due diligence (Public Profile Visible here: Team of Best Radiologists), they can forward the profile and the RRP which will make attempts to contact the selected ones on their behalf. However, there is no guarantee that the preferred radiologist will agree to participate in the second opinion study.  4 out of 5 times it is a futile and uncomforting exercise, hence it is advisable that the RRP be responsible for creating Expert Panels for clients.

Additionally, some good and popular radiologists have private profiles, which are not visible to the public. The RRP is the only one authorized to contact them.

Terms of Engagement for Provisional Read Report (PRR) when Client provides No Primary Report

The client is expected to submit the primary report at all times. If the primary report is genuinely lost or…

The client is expected to submit the primary report at all times. If the primary report is genuinely lost or unavailable and the client requires a second opinion or provisional read report to address their concerns, the following terms apply:

  1. It is crucial for clients to understand that the primary report holds significant importance from both a medico-legal standpoint and in framing a comprehensive and comparative study. Therefore, we strongly advise clients to submit their primary report to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the Second Opinion Study.

  2. In the event that a primary report is not available, certain radiologists may decline to participate in the Second Opinion Study. However, in special circumstances, a provisional read report (PRR) that mimics a Second Opinion may be commissioned solely to provide the client with confidence. It is important to note that this report will not challenge the primary report, as it will be based solely on limited imaging data and limited online clinical history provided by the client, including information on surgeries, infections, diseases, investigations, clinical complications, and other related factors.

  3. Limited clinical interactions in physical proximity may result in undue radiology impressions and/or omissions of certain findings in the given report. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the client to clarify any doubts by asking two specific questions after downloading the PRR from the portal. Please note that there will be no refunds issued once Expert panel is assigned the case.Ensuring accuracy and completeness of radiology reports is vital to making accurate diagnoses.

  4. The evaluation of the PRR is considered final only after the panel answers the client's two questions on the portal. The client's report review (positive or negative) via WhatsApp or email can help improve future cases.

  5. It is essential to note that clients must not seek a second opinion to correct or mend or invite any legal or surgical consequences. Furthermore, there shall be no remedy nor any claim of liability for insufficiencies or omissions after receiving the final Second Opinion Report or Provisional Read Report (PRR) taken from experts on TeleradiologyHub. Clients must read the Second Opinion: Terms & Conditions (teleradiologyhub.com) to understand these conditions.

  6. These terms and conditions are applicable even if not confirmed by the client in knowing or unknowing situations.

What are the reasons for declining Second Opinion? [Code Decline_SO]

AT TeleradiologyHub, we have a diligent and a process approach to cater to a review of your MRI or CT…

AT TeleradiologyHub, we have a diligent and a process approach to cater to a review of your MRI or CT Scan or other radiological studies. Our second-opinion process starts with your uploading of the Diagnostic Data and your clinical history. The most important part is reasoni for second opinion, that usually sets the direction of focused enhanced and comparative study. Most of the times, it requires us to assist you in curating the data in shape. RRP accesses the dignostic details, clinical history, your complaints and prepares review framework. Later the case is handed over to Experts/Senior Panel. But in between or after RRP can decline to provide second opinion as expected  earlier.

There several reasons to do so.

What is a code DECLINE_SO?

When the code DECLINE_SO is triggered, ithe process of second opinion is suspended . Subsequently, TeleradiologyHub  Panel withdraws from review process.  Second-Opinion/Terms-Conditions are applicable in all cases. Following reason(s) areenought to trigger the above code:

D1. Dicom Images provided are of inferior quality and  low resolution
D2. The primary report is not made available, whereas Panel thinks its crucial for review process
D3. Fees payment delayed or  related Issues
D4. The clinical history is not privided and the client is not reachable on the call
D5. Insignificant or unrelated queries asked/ Behaviour non acceptable
D6. Expectinging cross results from MRI or CT images or vice versa
D7. Queries related to physiological changes  or clinical aspects involved in opinion making
D8. Dicom image folder misses the sequence to which the second opinion query is linked
D9. Misc reasons due to unexplainable hygiene factors
D10. Experts think, the expectations are untenable
D11. Time taken is long due to accidental reasons
D12. Expert drops the study for unknown  reasons

CODE has following consequences:
-Second Opinion Process stops.
-Any action that is regarded as appropriate by the Panel
-You can have an appeal to Panel
-Either full or part of the payment is returned back ( As set in Second-Opinion/Terms-Conditions )

Most of the times, the cases in medical field require triangulation of the opinion. There could be different interpretations of the same studies, therefore doctors discretion is advised. None of the reviews are final but better jugged.  That means, if you or your consultant still carry a doubt, it necessitates further opinions triggering more enhanced reading by bigger panel  More opinions help you or your consultant to look the same case from different perspective- assures you that you are more informed.

The radiology opinions are not standard yardstick to measure the state of health, even if they are accurate. Clinically checked opinions have better advantage over such opinions, therefore we do not advice the reviews for legal purpose- it will have no sanctity in the courts of law  nor even in case of disputes.

Please read following terms and condition before seeking second opinion on this site.

1. A comparative study is an essential part of Second Opinion therefore it mandates client to submit earlier reports and investigations.  Any given second Opinion thereafter, will be sole responsible to the facts provided by you. All our opinions are in wriitten format that help in further scrutiny. There is no video consultations or opinion audio possible. Moreover the second opinion service does not include any 3-D model presentation or case presentations. If requested, these will be treated as seperate s.ervices

2. In case of data insufficiency, or if panel is not convinced to take up the study, the fees will be refunded back to only  receiving account ( Paypal/Credit/Debit Card/ Google/UPI ) after deducting 18% administration charges. This is also because, a lot of work has already been done just after you submit a opinion form or request.

3. The data that we have received from, you we assume,  has your consent to share with experts, panels,  Internal team, radioligists and stakeholders. We will ensure your identity not made public.

4. The second opinion service on Teleradiologyhub is for self assurance purpose only, therefore,  it should not be produced before any courts or insurance authorities. Neither the platform nor the reporting Radiologist shall be liable for legal or financial claim due to second opinion.  Our radiologists have licences and malpractice insurance coverage in their respective home countries. Therefore, this second opinions may not qualify for insurance claim in your country.  Due to their great experience in reporting similar cases (which you can see on their profiles and pixel), we think that you can get benefited. Teleradiologyhub panel does additional reviews on top of it. If you feel unsatisfied with the experts opinion, the panel can even set up a seperate Panel bench of 4-5 Radioligists for review of the second opinion. We ensure that your case is in safe hands. Thanks to Teleradiologyhub rating system!!

5. The Second Opinion Account is for limited time, it will be closed within  2 hours of second opinion beings served. Therefore clients are advised to use Q&A facility at earliest. There is no Refund possible at any stage especially, once you consent for appointment of a radiologist or a panel.

6. TeleradiologyHub team chooses experts to work on your case, based on several factors including skills and availability of the radiologist. Clients should not demand or challenge the selection in later stages.

7. When second opinion on this platform contradicts primary opinion, our radioligists offer a logical ground often. If clients are not satisfied with the explanations, they can ask for higher Panel of 4-5 Radiologist on paid basis. Teleradiologyhub does not entertain any discussions with the primary consultant, also it does not discard any alternative views in some cases.

8. The responsibility of communication is with client. In this virtual environment, we do not claim reliability or identity of both sides including data integrity. We work in the best interest of the Dignostic outcomes. In case of data insufficiency or radiologists are not convinced with the case parameters, they can retract from the case. There should not be overdependence on second opinion as clinical findings have greater importance.

9. Any paid consultation session would be max 15 min.

10. The Client has to cooperate with RRP (Resident Radiologist Panel) on request for recall, new data demand and additional payments if any. There are different situations, like at times when a Single Second Opinion request  actually warrants multiple studies. Because of different experts from category radiologist chosen, the fees would be in multiple of studies undertaken. Every study is charged differently by experts. There might be also situation when RRP is satisfied to recall of given opinion  in the wake of new insight or data or experts analysis or anything else. This is helpful to client as RRP will then submit the improved opinion.  Also read special situation: Terms of Engagement for Provisional Read Report (PRR) when Client provides No Primary Report (teleradiologyhub.com)

* Fees for individual MRI or CT study can vary from Euro 50 to Euro 399. The fees depend on experience of Radiologist(s), their affiliate Board, their availability and the case nature. Fees also  varies with quality images , timings and need of multiple experts.

All opinions are written and signed documents. Your cooperation is requested..

1. Please avoid negotiations. All second opinion cases are monitored by panel in real time even if it is late in night. They finish several tasks like case referencing, due-diligence, follow-up, data storage & transfer support, requisitions, language support, communication, pursuing Experts, etc. Overall case management is quite a serious task that consumes a good resources - at times more than given budget.
2. Please provide primary report always. In the absence of primary reports, it will not be a second opinion study, it will be again a primary study but under changed times and under the lack of fresh clinical impressions. Hence it unnecessarily requires Panel discretion in studying an old imaging protocol undertaken at the request of (unknown) Consultant opinion. In such cases, contradictions cant be ruled out.
3. Please ask clear and right questions. For more than TWO questions, report can be sent to a consultation group (PCG). It is short of asking for another review.
4. Please allow more time.  Ordinary channel of second opinion takes good hours to conduct research on case, more hours for more complex studies.  If you are ready to pay more for faster research and invite more seniors to study your case and/or make it more attractive for expert to engage, you may try express channel. In this case, experts might hold off his other activities and prioritise your case..
5. Please provide right Data.  If panel finds data insufficient, the second opinion study can not go ahead as planned until the data is made available. It can happen at any stage.
6.Consent & Medical Proof. To get the second opinion, we have to share your data with the concerned experts, therefore, you should be prepared for an automatic consent. Please let us know if you have any concerns before you paid the fees. The objective of second opinion is to seek alternative view from different experts in a way to  triage the findings- based on  primary opinion. There could be deviations in opinion- nothing right or wrong in served opinions. The clinical examinations are utmost necessary hence second opinions are not suitable as medical proof and can not be produced  in the court of law.  More Second-Opinion/Terms-Conditions.

*Teleradiologyhub Panel helps in substantiating the doubts in the studies. While you engage a top=rated radiologist across globe in a few minutes, you save time, cost and avoid many unknowns. We understand the limitations of serving you online-  hence appreciate your patience.

Unlike other Teleradiology Service Providers, our focus is on applied research in Radiology and Artificial Intelligence. Therefore, we prefer to deal with more complex and diverse cases.

We ensure our cases are seen by the best of radiologists masking the identity of the patient.

We keep a track of individual cases and save it on our clouds for research purpose. Lastly, our fees are designed to fit for your budget. We consider your case as our mission-partner in long term.

Our AI system identifies 3 types of cases. A type, B type, and C types. The turnaround time differs case to case. After your scans are uploaded by the diagnostic centres, our platform takes 30 min for C type CT case reporting while for MRI reporting takes 40 min and Xray at 12 min.

Highly complex are A-type cases need 3 times of C-Type, and seemingly difficult B-type cases need 2 times of C Type. The majority are standard 'C-Type' cases.

If you have paid your fees 100% online, you should expect a call from our centre within 1-2 working hours, if not, we encourage you to call TH Customer Care on 8624917525.

On the day of scanning, please carry your payment receipt to the scanning centre.

You may need to wait for your turn. In some situations, the waiting period could be 2-3 hours.

After the scan, images will be uploaded by the diagnostic centre on our server. Upon successful upload, please give our system 1-2 hours to send you a link of your scans and reports. Because these reports are saved on clouds, you can revisit them anytime throughout the week. They are free to download and print from wherever you wish to.

Why should I engage a radiologist from TeleradiologyHub than relying on diagnostic centres resource

One report can make huge difference to your life. After years of work into radiology and industrial engineering, we have developed a highly responsive and quality reporting procedure that not only provides you a rated radiologist of your choice but also runs double check on the reports. We have advance AI algorithms in place to aggregate, to rate and to get work done from radiologists distributed across the globe. Their reports are checked always manually.

The advantages of seeking reports from TH are more as the diagnostic centre

  • may not have specialised radiologists for your differentiated problem/scan
  • may not have tracking system for scans and reports during and after the scan process
  • may not have personal assistance to provide extra inputs on your reports
  • may not have self-learning options to rate a radiologists or provide a feedback
  • may not have a system for seeking second opinion
