Technique
AP and open/closed mouth lateral oblique views of right temporomandibular joint (TMJ) are obtained.
Findings
Right mandibular condyle head is normal in appearance and well placed within temporomandibular fossa on closed mouth views.
Open mouth views demonstrate normal anterior translation of mandibular condyle just underneath the articulate eminence.
No joint space loss to suggest articular disc injury or degeneration.
Impression
- Normal radiographic appearance of right TMJ.
MRI may be considered if symptoms persist.
